Clifford H. Clarke - Specialist, Japan

Clifford H. Clarke is Principle of Global Integration Strategies, LLC a Honolulu based organization. He specializes in Strategic Executive Coaching, Global Leadership and Organizational Development, Corporate Culture Change Management, Performance Improvement Systems, and Project Evaluation Methodology. His organization strategically integrates cultural diversity in global organizations.

Clarke, an American who grew up in Japan, is comfortable in both languages and cultures, and his wife, Naomi Takashiro, is a Japanese interculturist as well. For 20 years, he was CEO of the premier cross-cultural organization in the world. During that time he created a number of instruments which measure culture and change in organizations.

Clarke has over 3 decades of experience in global business consulting. As director of research projects, he has conducted corporate culture studies for many corporations, such as AT&T, Baxter Healthcare, Boston Scientific, Dell, DuPont, Eastman Kodak, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Honda, IBM, Intel, Motorola, Rohm & Haas, and other companies. He has also served as Intercultural Project Director in technology transfer projects for American companies, such as the Procter & Gamble Company in a Pampers plant start-up in Japan where he brought the company an $18 million return on their investment of $550,000.

Clarke served for ten years as a consultant to agencies and contractors of Japan's Ministry of Education and its Ministry of International Trade and Industry for the design and implementation of selection and training programs. He licensed the intercultural training programs that provided the foundation of the Fuji Xerox Learning Institute in Japan, and the intercultural research methodologies that provided the research foundations for the Intercultural Communication Center of the Scandinavian Airlines Systems (SAS) in Sweden.

Clarke is the co-author (with G. Douglas Lipp) of the book, Danger and Opportunity, which is about resolving conflict in U.S.-based Japanese subsidiaries.

Christine M. Casati - Specialist, China

Christine M. Casati is co-founder and President of the China Human Resources Group, Inc. (also known as CHRG), a management consulting firm specializing in human resources, government relations and the strategic development and implementation of projects in China. She is well-known for her creative expertise providing support across time zones to assist process-driven clients in the USA and Europe with organizing and utilizing resources to ensure project success. She has an outstanding track record of building relationships with key stakeholders and solving problems in China's complex regulatory environment.

Ms. Casati has lived and worked in the People's Republic of China and Taiwan. She speaks, reads and writes Mandarin Chinese. She was first stationed in Beijing in 1980 for WJS International, Inc., where she assisted over 20 major U.S. manufacturers with all aspects of their commercial activities in China. After finding that many corporations were not well-organized to deal with the complex issues confronting them in Asia, she created a team-based and knowledge-based approach to help clients anticipate, identify and evaluate emerging issues, shape their strategic responses, defend their interests and integrate the most effective strategies to position and develop their operations.

Since the founding of CHRG in 1988, Ms. Casati has represented clients in critical negotiations with Chinese agencies and provides guidance to investors on all aspects of the utilization of human resources, management and restructuring of Greater China operations. She has played a significant role assisting both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors as well as the automotive, chemical, electric power, personal care and telecommunications industries. Her major clients have included: AO Smith, Abbott Laboratories, Allied Signal, Arco Coal, Avon Products, Fuji Xerox, Goldman Sachs, Jordan Industries, Monsanto, Morgan Crucible Co.(UK), Project Orbis, Oxbow Power Corporation, Pfizer, Inc., Portman Properties, QA1 Precision Products, RR Donnelley, Rockwood Industries, Seacliff, Ltd., SmithKline Beecham Biologicals s.a. (Belgium), Texas Instruments, TNT Post, UOP-UCC, Wella AG and Xerox.

Robert L. (Lex) Dilworth - Specialist, Action Learning
Robert L. (Lex) Dilworth is a retired Army Brigadier General (his military assignments included service as The Adjutant General (TAG) of the U.S. Army) and an Associate Professor Emeritus of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, USA. He has a doctorate from Columbia University in Adult and Continuing Education. He has for many years had an interest in building learning systems in organizations that can bring competitive advantage and elevate performance. His specialties are action learning, human resource development (HRD) and organization development (OD). He has spent a number of years involved with action learning internationally, including time spent in extensive collaboration with Reg Revans and Albert Barker of England, as well as Verna Willis at Georgia State University. Dr. Dilworth has written and lectured widely on action learning, learning organizations and global HRD. He is the co-author with Verna Willis of the book Action Learning - Images and Pathways. His background as a consultant has extended to the federal government, state government and major corporations. He is the co-developer of ITAP's Action Learning Team Process Questionnaire™ (ALTPQ).
