ITAP International* was founded in 1986 in Princeton, New Jersey, USA by Dr. John W. Bing, who in 1992 won the prestigious International HRD Practitioner Award from the American Society for Training and Development. Since its inception, ITAP International has provided cross-cultural consulting and training to major companies and organizations, including pharmaceuticals, health and beauty care, consumer goods, telecommunications, travel services, insurance, retail, entertainment and the United Nations. Initially the company coached and trained thousands of executives who were moving from one part of the world to another. It was in support of these activities and training programs that ITAP developed the first of its proprietary approaches to capacity building. During the past decade, ITAP International has developed its consulting practices to include support of executive teams, human resources departments, and companies as they expand globally and manage international employees. In 2000, ITAP Europe was established, based in London, UK, through our partner company Kimball Consulting Ltd. (KCL). Through this partnership, we expanded our expertise base further to include a wider HRD offering with specialist focus on the development and implementation of competencies across international HRM and HRD processes, supported by unique competency profiling, assessment and model creation software products. Since 2005, with the restructuring of Kimball Consulting Ltd and ITAP International into a new organization with subsidiaries and affiliates around the world, the company has been led by CEO and European head Stephen Martin and Catherine Mercer Bing as head of ITAP Americas. Saehi Han heads ITAP Asia-Pacific from Seoul, South Korea. In addition, ITAP's Affiliate companies provide consulting, training, and products to companies in many countries. Through these Affiliates, ITAP provides clients with comparable programs in many languages and cultures. *"ITAP" originally stood for International Training Associates of Princeton. The company name is now "ITAP International" since it has expanded to capabilities beyond training and to locations beyond Princeton, NJ, USA. |
